The Dumyat Hill Race has been a stalwart of the University calendar since the 1970s when a friendly bet in the pub triggered this long standing tradition that has runners from all over Scotland come to take in the stunning views and friendly competition, come rain or shine.
The University’s Retired Staff Association have captured a little bit of the history of the hill race in their oral history interview with Angus Annan – listen below to hear about how this annual event came to be and have a browse of the SURSA oral history website to hear more from their fabulous oral history project.
