A new exhibition celebrating Italian cinema in the Edinburgh Film Guild photographic archive.

Presented as part of the 2026 Stirling Photography Festival this exhibition captures the creative energy of post-war Italian cinema with a selection of striking images from the Edinburgh Film Guild’s Photographic Archive.
Transferred to the University of Stirling in 2023 the Archive provides a comprehensive visual record of cinema, consisting of 39,000 photographs of over 5,000 films screened by the Guild since its foundation in 1929.
The exhibition provides a visual complement to the exhibition Fabrizio Gianni: Fab! A Life in Cinema and Fashion Photography which is on display at the Arthouse, Macrobert, from 22 August to 30 September 2026.
